Invitations for Bids (IFB)

Invitation for Bids (IFB) #10-004 - Asphalt and Curb Repair

The unusually harsh winter weather throughout the Triangle Region has forced many municipalities to initiate emergency roadway repairs. These extreme conditions also prompted Triangle Transit to re-inspect the asphalt pavement scheduled to be replaced at its Bus Maintenance Facility (Triangle Transit Solicitation 10-004).

This inspection revealed that deterioration and cracking of the asphalt pavement are not only accelerating, but migrating to areas not included in the original scope of this project. Revising the project scope of work to address the weather related issues would have resulted in additional work, over and above that contemplated in the original scope of the project.

Accordingly, Triangle Transit has decided to cancel Solicitation No. 10-004 and issue a new solicitation with a revised scope of work, rather than implement a series of asphalt and concrete patches that no longer address the full scope of required pavement repairs. This new solicitation will be issued during the week of March 7th and will be open for public bidding.
