Wi-Fi Terms of Service

Triangle Transit offers Wi-Fi Internet connectivity service (“service”) to bus patrons at no cost provided that all patrons first read and agree to these Terms and Conditions. Triangle Transit reserves the right to change or terminate the service or change these Terms of Use at any time.

TRIANGLE TRANSIT OFFERS INTERNET ACCESS “AS IS” AND MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. BY CONNECTING TO THE INTERNET VIA THE TRIANGLE TRANSIT NETWORK, THE PATRON ACKNOWLEDGES AND ASSUMES SOLE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE INTERNET, AND HEREBY RELEASES AND INDEMNIFIES TRIANGLE TRANSIT FROM ANY AND ALL ACTUAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOST PROFITS THAT MIGHT OCCUR (WHETHER FORESEEABLE OR NOT) ARISING OUT OF THE PATRON’S USE OF THE INTERNET VIA THE TRIANGLE TRANSIT NETWORK.

The Internet is a public communications network that contains a large amount of content. Triangle Transit is not responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, quality, nature, character, or privacy of content that is accessed or transmitted by patrons using the Internet via the Triangle Transit network.

Triangle Transit prohibits the use of the Internet via the Triangle Transit network to engage in illegal, actionable or criminal activity; to violate any local, state, or federal statute; to seek access into unauthorized areas or use access codes and/or network identification assigned to others; to access, transmit, upload, or download pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit material; to threaten, libel and harass others; to violate the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of others; to tamper with Triangle Transit network security; to impede, disrupt, or engage in unauthorized monitoring of the Internet use of others; to violate software license agreements; and/or to engage in the unauthorized disclosure, use, and dissemination of personal identification information regarding minors.

Triangle Transit is not responsible for providing security measures for patron software or hardware or use of the Internet. The patron is solely responsible for providing all appropriate antivirus and firewall software, and other desired or necessary protections for their devices.

Triangle Transit will monitor sites accessed by patrons of the service. If illicit or unauthorized Internet sites are accessed by a patron, Triangle Transit may block service temporarily or permanently to that patron. Parents and guardians are expected to monitor their children’s use of the Internet.

Triangle Transit is not responsible for any personal property used to access the Internet via the Triangle Transit network. Triangle Transit staff is not permitted to support patron connectivity or computer issues of any type, cannot provide any technical assistance, and can only verify the current operational state of the Internet service.

Triangle Transit does not guarantee availability or access to the Internet or minimum Internet connection speeds on the Triangle Transit network. Triangle Transit is not responsible for loss of data due to service delays or interruptions.
